The Easiest {DIY} Mask Ever

No, seriously. I’m not kidding! This is by far the absolutely easiest DIY mask I have ever tried! This mask contains one, and only one, ingredient: egg white. I have battled acne since high school and have so many different over the counter, prescription and DIY products. A few years ago I was searching Pinterest (what’s new!) when I came across using egg whites as a mask. At first I was skeptical but I decided to give it a try! I mixed lemon juice with the egg whites but, because of my very sensitive skin, it burned! I then thought why not put toilet paper, in pieces, on my face and spread the egg whites on top to make a peel off mask. Needless to say, my husband took a picture of me in my pink robe and toilet paper spread on my face but it didn’t seem to do the trick.

I gave it one more shot and just used one egg white and spread it on my face and TA-DA: IT WORKED! I was amazed at the results! I still use the egg whites twice a week on my face and it helps to heal pimples when they arrive, which has become less frequent but they still like to pop out at the worst times! Here is the step-by-step directions for trying this simple DIY mask! I would love to hear what your favorite at home mask is! xoxo

  • 1 Egg white

  • Crack an egg and separate the yolk from the white in a small bowl
  • Whip up the egg white like you would when you make scrambled eggs, until it becomes a little frothy
  • Carefully (because it is runny and will run down your arm!) get some of the egg white on your fingers and spread on your face, avoiding the eyes and mouth
  • Wait 20-25 minutes or until the egg becomes hard on your skin and your skin feels tighter
  • Wash off with warm water, I just use my hands to rinse
  • Pat dry and apply your moisturizer
